Szczecin for holidays? Why not!

When spring is coming, a lot of us start to making plans for future holidays. Cause first rays of the sun make us wonder about tropical lands, where we can lay on a beach all day long and do nothing. Depending on your preferences, another destination will be perfect for you. For admirer of hot weather, Greece or Spain will be nice. If you better like to be active during week off, maybe you consider to climb on Swiss Alps. Or maybe you are a patriot, and you like to visit some interesting Polish metropolis? If so, Szczecin is recommended.

The city itself, maybe is not the most popular destination spot in Poland, but it has plenty of tourist attractions. Also, it is located half hour ride from the seashore, so during your trip, you can arrange one whole day on the beach. Szczecin was part of Germany for very long time, therefore you will be able to admire in there many excellent examples of architecture. First of all, you need to climb on the top of Castle Hill. In there, you will be able to take a tour around astonishing Castle of Pomeranian Princes. This great building, was founded in Renaissance period as a residence of local royal family. You can even get inside of it, to walk through old-fashioned chambers, with interior designs from former times.
Another great building is Bismarck’s Tower, situated in Goclaw district. This amazing structure, were founded in the end of ninetieth century, in a New- Romanesque style. Unfortunately, it was ruined during the World War Two, so nowadays, it looks alike Medieval remains.If you are fan of sacral buildings, you need to take a tour around Szczecin Cathedral, it was founded in Medieval times in Gothic style. If you are travelling with kids, you will find a lot of attractions for them as well. In there, you will find Arkonka’s swimming complex, with plenty of interactive slides, Jacuzzi, sauna and many more. It is open each days during entire week, even on state holidays. Also, if you like to spend some extraordinary day, you can take a tour underneath the surface of earth. Every day from the Main railway station, you can take a cruise with guide, who will lead you trough the halls, build during World War Two.

If you are tired of vanguard holidays, why not take a trip to Szczecin? It is not very popular among tourists, but it is really worth to be seen. You will be able to see in there many interesting examples of architecture, great places for kids, and even take a tour underground.
